Robert August has reached an NAHB Spike Club milestone: He has amassed more than 3,000 Spike Credits, earned by recruiting a boatload of new members to NAHB and to his own association, the HBA of Metropolitan Denver.
How did he do it? Simple. “Asking for the order,” August said.
“It’s sitting down and determining who should be a member: putting a list together, going out and meeting those people, selling them on the features, advantages and benefits of membership,” he said. Best of luck – or as August himself would say, “Onward and upward” to all our dedicated recruiters!
Recruiting new members to your local association is an activity recognized and rewarded through the Spike Club. Those who participate are called Spikes, and they are among the most valued members of the association.
